Remuneration (Payroll)

The company offers a comprehensive payroll processing service. You can choose to join either the monthly or the weekly payroll to best suit your preference or assignment schedule. During payroll processing, Gross and Net Pay are calculated and paid as follows:

  1. Payments, received before each payroll cut-off date from agencies or clients, are allocated to your Gross Turnover for the payroll week or month.
  2. Service charge(s) are calculated and deducted from your Gross Turnover.
  3. Special Instructions (including the retention of funds) are executed and your Gross Turnover adjusted accordingly.
  4. Expense claims, submitted and authorised or assigned before the payroll cut-off date, are deducted from your Gross Turnover.
  5. Employers National Insurance Contributions (NICs) and other Gross deductions are calculated and deducted from your Gross Turnover to yield your Gross Pay.
  6. Any further deductions (including PAYE, employee NICs and employee contributions) are taken to yield your Net Pay.
  7. Your Net Pay as well as any expense reimbursements are paid out by BACS.
  8. PAYE and NICs are paid over to the Inland Revenue by BACS.
You will receive a detailed Remuneration Statement, Expense Statement and a summary of Special Instructions executed and charges applied each payroll period. This information can also be accessed online via the PSS portal.

The payroll service also includes all statutory reporting and documentation (e.g. P60, P45), dealings with the Inland Revenue and Contributions Agency as well as filing of end-of-year returns (P35).

Dividends associated with assignments deemed to fall outside IR35 are paid out quarterly in February, May, August and November (or on request if you raise a Special Instruction).
